Regino Madrid, violin- From Los Angeles, CA, received his bachelors degree in music from the Cleveland Institute of Music is 1998. Mr. Madrid is currently a member of the “President’s Own” U.S. Marine White House Orchestra and is an active soloist, concertmaster, and chamber musician throughout the DC area, playing at such venues such as the Library of Congress, the Phillips Collection, The Smithsonian Chamber series, The Kennedy Center, Wolf Trap, and the Verizon Center with artists such as Sarah Brightman, Rod Stewart, and Vince Gill. He is currently the concertmaster of the McLean Orchestra, the Chesapeake Orchestra at St. Mary’s, and occasionally plays as concertmaster for the White House Orchestra and the Alexandria Symphony. He regularly plays with The National Symphony, the Eclipse Chamber Orchestra, National Gallery Orchestra, and the National Philharmonic Orchestra. In Los Angeles, he attended the Colburn School of Performing Arts and won the Rubinstein Grand Prize in the South Peninsula National Chamber Music competition. As a founding member of the Hamilton String Quartet in Los Angeles, they appeared in the movie “Sister Act 2″ starring Whoopi Goldberg and were featured in NBC’s “Good Morning America”. In Los Angeles, Mr. Madrid recorded numerous movie soundtracks in the film studios while pursuing a degree in Physiological Science from UCLA. He has played with the Cleveland Orchestra, Orchestre de la Swiss Romande, I Palpiti, The Smithsonian Chamber Orchestra, and the Canton Symphony. He has also performed chamber music with Paul Kantor and members of the Miro String Quartet. Mr. Madrid has participated in numerous music festivals such as Santa Barbara Music Academy of the West, Holland Music Sessions, Musicorda, Idyllwilde (CA), and “Soundfest” (Cape Cod) with the Colorado Quartet.
